Artefact of the Month: Late medieval to post medieval Compact Case. Made of a high level of tin / bronze metal, surprisingly complete, and unopened as yet despite the rattle from inside! Decorated with 'wriggle work' (punched engraving). Found by Michael C.
Coin of the Month: Edward the Confessor, short cross silver hammered. Found by Ian S.
** Edward the Confessor, also known as Saint Edward the Confessor, was among the last Anglo-Saxon kings of England. Usually considered the last king of the House of Wessex, he ruled from 1042 to 1066. Edward was the son of Æthelred the Unready and Emma of Normandy.

Find of the Month: A medieval silver seal matrix, slightly oval base depicting a church with a cross on the steeple and beaded decor around the edge. (treasure?) .. Found by Ian S.
Eyes Only (non metallic): Ammonite Fossil. Found by Vince B.
Ammonites are perhaps the most widely known fossil, possessing the typically ribbed spiral-form shell as pictured. These creatures lived in the seas between 240 - 65 million years ago, when they became extinct along with the dinosaurs.
