Find of the Month : 8th Century Pyramid Pommel Mount -

Saxon pyramid type sword/dagger pommel that has been re-used as a gaming piece by filling with lead and adding a piece of chip carve metalwork in the top, which contains remnants of gold and 3 fragments of garnets and was also silvered at one time. Found by Vince B
